Carpets of Baku

I like carpets, because I like sitting and laying on the floor. It’s so natural, you cannot fall down from the floor)))) Carpet cultures are always very warm and welcoming, and carpet colours are bright and vivid like flowers in a garden of paradise. They used to make natural dyes from plants, tree bark, insects, to colour wool and cotton threads for a carpet. Carpet ornament is still symbolic and helps to distinguish the origin of the carpet.

Here are some carpets from Baku (Azerbaijan). They put carpets on the streets of Old town and on walls of Karavan sarays and it makes a nice contrast with stone.
