Handprinted trees

Tried to print my English park trees on textile. I ordered stamps with trees cut out of rubber, bought a bottle of olive green Javana Textile Sunny dye by C. Kreul. Found some pieces of cotton, linen, wool and silk for a test.
I also cut a butterfly out of photocopier paper to use it as a ‘stamp’.
So my conclusions are
– Don’t really like the result, need to try different colour, more vivid and bright
– Accuracy is needed while applying dye because excessive dye around the shape makes a drop on fabrics
– Fabrics absorbs dye immediately. You can iron it a minute after
– My stamps work best on a fine cotton. The dye I used is good for light coloured fabrics
– Butterflys are nice. Could make a funny t-shirt print
